Linxdatacenter enters the TOP-10 of the IaaS Enterprise 2022 ranking

Linxdatacenter is in the TOP-10 of the CNews.Market ranking of the largest IaaS providers in Russia.

Places in the ranking are determined by a point system: the larger sum of points, the higher is the place in the ranking.

Points are awarded based on several criteria: certificates, guaranteed service availability, additional services, number of specialists in the team, technical characteristics of the data centers, variety of hypervisors and the cost of services.

The final result is also affected by such parameters as tariffication options, length of the free trial period, quantity of carriers onsite and length of own telecom channels.

Linxdatacenter accumulated 466 points in total, which landed the company in the 9th place among the 20 leading IaaS providers of Russia. Key input of 91 points is owed to the data center characteristics: own data centers were rated higher than rented sites.

Options of assistance with cloud migration, IaaS setup and additional adaptation to the customers’ needs, as well as a variety of tariffication options – from hourly to monthly – and a 30-day trial period were also rated highly

According to Olga Sokolova, General Director of Linxdatacenter in Russia, demand for virtual infrastructure is the main driver of the cloud market in Russia.

“Business today is in an increasing need for reliable working environment for IT systems. The current trend also reflects maturity of the offer of the providers who are just beginning to build their own cloud platform solutions. On the whole, IaaS continues to be the most sought-after product, and our services’ portfolio reflects this dynamics,” comments Olga Sokolova.

The customer faced a technical issue with a persistent BGP session flag with Linxdatacenter hardware. We examined the problem and found out that one of customer’s hosts was under a DDoS attack.

Because of the distributed nature of the attack, traffic couldn’t be filtered effectively, and disconnecting the host from the external network wasn’t an option. The attack stopped after changes in the server configuration, but resumed the day after. A 5.5 Gbps attack overloaded the junctions with internet providers, affecting other Linx Cloud users. To mitigate the effects of the attack, we employed a dedicated DDoS protection service.


To ensure the continuous availability of resources hosted in Linx Cloud, we rerouted all the customer’s traffic through StormWall Anti-DDoS system. The attack was stopped within half an hour. To prevent future cyberattacks, we organized all connections to the customer’s resources through the StormWall network.
