Anna Malmi has been appointed the regional director of Linxdatacenter in Saint Petersburg

Linxdatacenter announces the appointment of a regional director in Saint-Petersburg. Anna Malmy was appointed to this position. She will be responsible for the development of the company in the North-West Region, coordination of interaction between the St. Petersburg subdivisions of the company and the central office

Linxdatacenter announces the appointment of Anna Malmi to the position of the regional director at the company’s St Petersburg branch. She will be responsible for the business development in the North-Western region and coordination with the head office.

Anna Malmi’s responsibilities will include organization of the employees’ working process at the St.Petersburg office of Linxdatacenter, including the data center itself, setting up of tasks and goals for specific departments and monitoring their achievement, making administrative decisions.

Introduction of the new position was dictated by the need of Linxdatacenter to continue intense and flexible development of cloud and data center services.

“Linxdatacenter has a diverse structure, with equally ranked branches in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. I see my mission in assistance with cross-functional tasks, increase of transparency and efficiency of internal communication in the company, creating of synergy in interaction of the teams, ensuring their productive cooperation and fast resolution of local issues,”comments Anna Malmi. 

All functional departments are represented in the St.Petersburg office of Linxdatacenter, and the number of its employees is comparable to the Moscow office.

The company aims to expand its business and share in the cloud market and to continue developing own data centers in Russia. In the first quarter of 2022 Linxdatacenter reached the planned goals and showed a 6% turnover increase compared to the previous year, but the largest growth is scheduled for the second and third quarters of 2022.

Anna Malmi graduated from the Philology Department of the University of Herzen. She obtained MBA in marketing management at the Moscow State University of Economics. She also graduated from the Microsoft Marketing Academy and received a Marketing Excellence certificate.

Anna has more than 15 years of marketing experience in the IT field. She held managerial positions in the Russian offices of Microsoft, Nokia, Sodexo.

Anna joined the Linxdatacenter team a year and a half ago in the capacity of a marketing director.

Another recent change in the management team of Linxdatacenter was the appointment of the new general director,Andrey Perekrest, the manager of the Moscow data center, in May 2022.

The customer faced a technical issue with a persistent BGP session flag with Linxdatacenter hardware. We examined the problem and found out that one of customer’s hosts was under a DDoS attack.

Because of the distributed nature of the attack, traffic couldn’t be filtered effectively, and disconnecting the host from the external network wasn’t an option. The attack stopped after changes in the server configuration, but resumed the day after. A 5.5 Gbps attack overloaded the junctions with internet providers, affecting other Linx Cloud users. To mitigate the effects of the attack, we employed a dedicated DDoS protection service.

Solution

To ensure the continuous availability of resources hosted in Linx Cloud, we rerouted all the customer’s traffic through StormWall Anti-DDoS system. The attack was stopped within half an hour. To prevent future cyberattacks, we organized all connections to the customer’s resources through the StormWall network.
