Cloud resources of Linxdatacenter have tripled

Facing the growing demand for cloud service, Linxdatacenter has increased the capacity of its computing infrastructure. This will enable clients of the LinxCloud platform to add resources without limitations.

Linxdatacenter’s project of cloud infrastructure modernization was implemented in the period of restructuring of the Russian IT market caused by departure of Western vendors, increased equipment delivery terms, disconnection of payment systems, interruptions in supply chains.

Despite the complications, the engineering team managed to find solutions by reliable suppliers in three months. Both processor capacity and data storage systems were upgraded. As a result, in terms of processor cores, RAM and storage resource, LinxCloud grew threefold.

Infrastructure was expanded at both data center sites of the provider in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. This will give customers confidence in the entire cloud infrastructure and use it to organize geographically distributed architecture of their IT systems.

To achieve one of the most urgent goals of any cognizant business – ensuring fault-tolerance of their IT systems with a backup data center that is likely to remain in a standby mode most of the time – is now more expensive than ever. According to him, expansion of the LinxCloud capacity will allow the company to increase load on the cloud platform and help more customers.

In parallel with the platform development, Linxdatacenter continues to expand the range of its cloud products. Specifically, soon-to-be-launched services include big data processing and content delivery network (CDN) solutions.

The customer faced a technical issue with a persistent BGP session flag with Linxdatacenter hardware. We examined the problem and found out that one of customer’s hosts was under a DDoS attack.

Because of the distributed nature of the attack, traffic couldn’t be filtered effectively, and disconnecting the host from the external network wasn’t an option. The attack stopped after changes in the server configuration, but resumed the day after. A 5.5 Gbps attack overloaded the junctions with internet providers, affecting other Linx Cloud users. To mitigate the effects of the attack, we employed a dedicated DDoS protection service.


To ensure the continuous availability of resources hosted in Linx Cloud, we rerouted all the customer’s traffic through StormWall Anti-DDoS system. The attack was stopped within half an hour. To prevent future cyberattacks, we organized all connections to the customer’s resources through the StormWall network.
